Welcome to ltwellness's holding page, which is currently hosting "Terry's Solo South West Coast Path Challenge".

Due to a "slight wardrobe" malfunction Terry is having to reschedule the challenge from July 2011 to between 28th August and 10th September 2011. Hopefully, all of those kind people that have been supporting the challenge to date will continue to offer their support and sponsorship. Both Help for Heroes and Cancer Research (UK) have been informed about the change of date and the reason why, please see the blog below for further details.
For those new to the challenge Terry Davis is going to attempt to complete the entire South West Coast Path in 14 days or less. The path is the longest national trail in the United Kingdom with the official route spanning 630 miles in total. It is Terry's intention to complete the whole distance on foot and carrying what he needs on his back for the day and only stopping to collect necessary provision's on route, such as ice cream, fudge and possibly the odd beer! By the end of the trek, Terry will have covered at least 630 miles and ascended approximately 115,000 feet or just shy of four ascents of Mount Everest!! The reason for attempting such a challenge is because there is no record of anybody succesfully completeing this challenge to date, though others have tried. Hence, should his attempt be successful then Terry's achievement should be a first and a new record. In order to complete this challenge Terry will have to average a daunting 45 miles per day or nearly of two marathons a day and for a continous period of 14 days. In order to sustain this level of activity Terry estimates that his body will be consuming between 8000 - 9000 calories per day.
Besides the personal challenge for Terry he has decided to do the challenge in aid of two very worthwhile charities, Help for Heroes and Cancer Research (UK). The pain and discomfort that Terry endures whilst completing this challenge will be nothing compared to that suffered on a daily basis by individuals that are supported by the two charities that Terry has chosen to raise money for.
Terry has previously completed the entire Pennine Way (275 miles), solo and on more than one occasion. The last time he attempted this he managed the entire distance in under 10 Days. This previous experience will be highly relevant in terms of planning, preparation and actually attempting this new challenge. However, Terry is under no illusion of how physically and mentally demanding this challenge will be, and that it will probably be one of the hardest things he has ever attempted in his life.
It will also be possible to follow Terry's progress via ltwellness's Twitter and Facebook pages.
